JoAnn Valletta, of Easton, is vaccinated by a nursing school student and received the 250,000th COVID-19 vaccine administered by St. Luke's University Health Network April 21. The network is vaccinating up to 4,000 people a day throughout its 12-hospital system across the greater Lehigh Valley. “The way to beat this virus is through the herd immunity we can achieve with mass vaccination,” infectious diseases section chief Dr. Jeffrey Jahre said. “Our community is closer than ever to herd immunity thanks to the incredible, tireless St. Luke's staff.” CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
