Salisbury Elementary School students will have the opportunity to participate in a butterfly release this year. This is open to all students, regardless of mode of learning. Caterpillars are available to purchase via salisburypto.membershiptooklit.com/home. They are available for a small fee and will be distributed in early May. The ordering deadline is April 29.
We are quickly approaching the end of this anything but normal school year. With that, students at SES are currently scheduled to have field day May 4 (rain date May 18) for those in kindergarten through grade 2 and May 6 for those in grades 3-4 (rain date May 20).
The districtwide art show is also currently scheduled 5-8 p.m. May 5 at Salisbury High School. Look for more information to be sent home regarding this.
The next operations committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. May 5.
SES will have its next Spirit Day May 6. Be sure to show off those SES shirts.
Did you know that your child can get free books this summer? Barnes & Noble will hold a summer reading program to encourage children to read. Here’s how it works: Students get a reading journal and pick any book to read at their own pace. Students complete the journal by reading eight books and describing their favorite part of each book.
During July and August, students take their journal to their local Barnes & Noble store to redeem their free book. How easy is that? I thought this was a pretty cool program and had to share.
The township yard waste sites are open alternating weekends. Hours for drop off are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The Devonshire drop-off will be open April 29 and May 1, while the Franko Farm Drop-off will be open May 3, 6 and 8.
