Team makes St. Luke’s donation
Freedom HS’s Guidance Team delivered a check for $500 to St. Luke’s University Health Network. St. Luke’s will be using the donation to supply snack type food to the workers at the many vaccination sites. Freedom Family comes through once again!

B.E.S.T. Awards nominations sought
Students, families, staff and community partners are invited to nominate a K-12 level BASD teacher for the 2021 B.E.S.T. awards. Teachers are chosen to receive one of three for Excellence in Teaching awards: elementary-Seymour and Sophia Haber Award; middle-The Bernie Cohen Award; and high school: The Anthony Ruggiero Award. The nomination submission deadline is April 30. All recipients of the B.E.S.T. Award receive a certificate and a monetary award. They are recognized at the BASD convocation in August. BASD mini-THON donations welcomed
BASD mini-THON is a dance marathon that both Liberty and Freedom take part in. Throughout the year schools try to raise money for children with pediatric cancer through the Four Diamonds Fund. The students raise money through donor drives. All donations are much appreciated. Foundation scholarship applications available

East Hills MS: Mini-thon through May 14
All EHMS students, families, staff and friends are invited to join the current 2021 Mini-THON Walk for a Cure. The event runs through May 14.

SAUCON VALLEY
Academic schedule changes announced
On March 9, the Saucon Valley School District Board of Directors approved two make-up days for the snow days incurred this year due to inclement weather. Snow days were built into the 2020 - 2021 calendar. The two make-up days listed below are needed to fulfill state requirements, in addition to the allotment of snow days already used throughout the year.
Calendar changes are April 5: full instructional day for in person and remote students; April 30: no early dismissal for high school students; and June 4: students’ last day (a half day- early dismissal), Class of 2021 graduation.
