Roughies Report: Two days left for FBLA fundraiser

This week, Catasauqua High School students are in a penny war competition and are donating their spare change and dollars to support the Future Business Leaders of America’s state project, the American Heart Association. All donations into each grade’s containers not only help to support this worthwhile cause but will also help to win spirit points for their class for the year.

Time is running out to donate toward this service project and to help your grade earn spirit points. Coin containers will be available in the cafeteria during all lunches and in the library April 29 and 30.

After a year off because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Camp LCTI is back for summer 2021!

Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s annual camp is held during the summer to spread the word about career and technical education in the Lehigh Valley. LCTI’s annual summer camp offers STEAM-focused fun with science, technology, engineering, art and math programs and classes, as well as career exploration.

New this summer are camp classes featuring exercise science, the Hawaiian islands, precision machining and yoga. Classes are also being offered where campers can learn how to lift fingerprints, whip up cherry cheesecake, build electronic gadgets and more.

This year, one weeklong session is being offered for $250. Campers in grades 5 through 8 who register by May 15 will receive a free Camp LCTI T-shirt. Sessions run 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. June 21-25. Campers can choose four classes per session.

Visit Camp LCTI’s website, lcti.org/camplcti, for a complete lineup of classes and to register.
