Robert D. Arnold

Robert D. Arnold,, 78, of Emmaus, died April 19, 2021. He was the husband of Louise I. (Brophy) Arnold. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late George and Myrtle V. (Schmick) Arnold.

A graduate of Emmaus High School, he attended Berklee School of Music and graduated from Temple University in 1966.

He enlisted in the Army and was selected as a member of the U.S. Army Field Band. He also toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Upon returning to Emmaus, he became a piano tuner and technician, a profession he practiced for over 40 years.

Throughout his life he continued performing and sharing his musical talents playing piano and teaching piano privately and as an adjunct instructor at Muhlenberg College. He also served as musical director and arranger for the contemporary service at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, where he was a longtime member. For a period of time he also ran Lehigh Burial Service.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Daniel R., of Earlysville, Va.; a daughter, Susan and her husband, Jonas Yoder, of Springfield; a sister, Emily and her husband, Carlton Dreas, of Emmaus; a grandson, Benjamin Yoder.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by the Trexler Funeral Home, Allentown.
