LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

LETTERS Business as usual

Dear Editor:

Primary elections take decision making away from political insiders and give voters a real voice. By accepting endorsements from five elected official insiders, candidate Reynolds has signaled his intention to keep doing “business as usual.” “It’s his turn” is often heard.

Why would elected officials try to subvert the intent of a true primary by endorsing one Democrat over another Democrat? Let the voters of Bethlehem decide.

My choice is clear. Mr. Reynolds has accepted over $26,000 in donations from developers doing business in Bethlehem. In one case, he accepted a $6,000 donation from developers of the controversial Martin Tower project. He then voted to change the zoning of the site to make it, potentially, a third business district despite citizen objections.

Another donation led to a vote to allow a high rise building to be built on the Southside. Another vote approved building a publically paid for parking deck for the privately owned building.

Dana Grubb is the only candidate that truly has the voters’ best interests at heart. When you ask Dana Grubb a question, you always get an answer. When you ask Mr. Reynolds a question, you get boilerplate pap. A vote for Dana is a vote against “Business as Usual” in Bethlehem.
