Whitehall High School Theatre is excited to announce the spring production of “Shrek the Musical.” Due to limits on gatherings and the continued renovation of the WHS auditorium, the show will be filmed live on stage at Civic Theatre of Allentown and will be streamed for audiences 7 p.m. May 28 and 29.

For more information or to purchase a streaming ticket, visit showtix4u.com/events/whitehalltheater.

Each ticket includes one streaming code that can be used to watch the show on a single device. If you plan to have a viewing party with multiple people watching one screen, please consider making a donation to the program via showtix for the additional viewership.

Another way to support WHS Theatre is by purchasing an ad for the show. Since the group is streaming “Shrek the Musical,” on-screen, digital ads are available in addition to the digital program. There are numerous tiered sponsorships, from narrated on-screen pictured ads to color ads in a digital program. These can be professional business ads or personal ad shout-outs to a specific cast or crew member.

In addition, the group is selling seat sponsorships. Each sponsored seat will have one face cutout that will sit in the auditorium for the weekend of the show. The hope is to fill the theater with supportive and familiar faces.

Email Mr. Hong with any questions at honge@whitehallcoplay.org.

Here is some exciting news announced on Zephyr Pride Foundation’s Facebook page.

At a recent meeting, Zephyr Pride Foundation voted to award a total of $11,000 this year. One-thousand-dollar scholarships will be awarded to three deserving senior students - one for excellence in academics, one for excellence in the arts and one for excellence in athletics.

Additionally, grants totaling $8,000 are being made available to the faculty and staff of the school district - $1,000 allocated for each of the five buildings, $1,000 each for arts and athletics and an additional $1,000 earmarked to help with funding special programs, fees, costs, etc., as they arise throughout the 2021-22 school year.

While Zephyr Pride Foundation members are thrilled to be able to award this money, the goal in the future is to significantly increase the dollar amounts available. The easiest way to help with this goal is to purchase a brick through the Zephyr Walk brick campaign. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of each brick go directly to the foundation.

For more information or to purchase a brick, visit bricksrus.com/donorsite/zpf.
