CONTRIBUTED PHOTO The Lower Macungie Township Historical Society would like to know more information about any of the people in the photograph labeled “Lays Outing” at the Kratzer Farm, off Willow Lane in what is now a township park. The society believes this was probably a family from somewhere in Lehigh County. They would like to know more about the photographer as well as the people. They are in possession of a long photo by the same business, Penn State Photo Studio, East Texas, but they don't know anything about them. The Kratzer Farm was used for picnics and clambakes by families, businesses, volunteer and fraternal organizations, etc. Fishing, band concerts, games of all kinds and drinking were among the activities. In the background is the old farmhouse built in the second half of the 1700s and the barn, which the township recently painted with the addition of new barn stars. Look carefully and you will see that the man on the far right is the same as the man on the far left; he ran behind the photographer while the camera was panning the scene.
