Freedom boys have high expectations

The potential is there for Freedom’s boys lacrosse team this season, the question is can they fulfill it?

The Patriots come into the spring with their undying passion to break into the upper tier of EPC lacrosse hierarchy and bring a roster that head coach Tony Fabrizio believes can do just that.

“This is the most talented team I’ve had at Freedom,” said Fabrizio. “We are hoping this will lead us to wins over the big teams in the league. The players have put in a lot of hard work, and we’re hoping it pays off this season.”

This year’s group is led by seniors Quin Hoke, Jake Ceirech, Matt Bargardo, Brooks Coyne, Marcus Kreidler, Jacob Schwind and Ethan Ferry.

Juniors include Connor Bevan, Adam DePolis, Jacob Perrault, Anthony Lyden and Brian Schaffer. The sophomores that can make an impact are Ryan Hathaway, Eli White, Alex Hume and Jake Ballerini. Freshmen Jonah Ortwein and Jarred Karibunis could also make contributions.

“This year is unlike any other we’ve had,” said Fabrizio. “I believe we can make a statement in the league and districts. We have the potential, we just need to go out and play to that potential every game. If we do that, I believe we will turn a lot of heads this season.”
