Coplay Sports is planning an in-person opening day for baseball and softball 9 a.m. May 1 at the sports complex at Sixth, Wall and Maple Streets.

The fellowship committee at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., plans a congregational/community pickup lasagna dinner 4-5:30 p.m. May 8.

The 2021 annual street sweeping in Coplay Borough is scheduled for May 20 and 21.

The pierogie-making operation at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is scheduled to return in May.

The help ministry at St. Peter’s is seeking volunteers. The volunteers help give parishioners in need rides to doctors’ appointments, grocery stores and other errands.

Coplay has two openings for part-time help in the public works department this summer. The jobs run May through August for 30 hours a week.
The borough is also still seeking lifeguards, a person or group to operate the Parkway Pool concession stand during 2021 and a pavilion cleaner.
