Baseball falls, volleyball wins

Parkland baseball topped Whitehall Tuesday, 5-1.

The Trojans scored twice in the first and once in the third for a 3-0 lead before the Zephs cut it to 3-1 in the bottom of the third on an Owen Fischl RBI hit that scored Austin Miller.

That score would stand until the seventh when PHS added two insurance runs.

Blake Barthol and Jack Giovenco each had two hits for Parkland. Bryce Ratiff got the win pitching the final four innings and not allowing a run. Matthew Snyder took the loss for WHS going six innings and allowing eight hits and two earned runs.

Volleyball

The WHS volleyball team beat Pocono Mountain West in three sets, 25-3, 25-9 and 25-8.

Conor Fenstermaker had 5 kills and 5 blocks. Matt Lisicky had 6 kills and Hunter Pinkey added 6 kills and 2 blocks.

Torrey Tyson had 6 aces while Aiden Sommer chipped in with 9 digs and 4 aces. Nick Rex had 5 aces and 21 assists.
