The Emmaus High School Class of 2021 Senior Ball will be held 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. June 11 at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.
While some components of the prom will be altered, it will still be a formal event with food, music, games and photo opportunities.
The event will be outdoors and masks will be required except when eating. The event can also only happen if enough students show interest in going. Additionally, non-senior students will be able to go depending on how many seniors show a desire in going. If there is space for ninth through 11th graders to come, tickets will be made available for them on a first come, first served basis. Seniors interested in attending should respond to the Google form posted on Schoology by noon April 7.
Graduation for the Class of 2021 remains scheduled for June 13 at the PPL Center, Allentown.
However, there have been some changes for the ceremony. There will now be two identical live and in person ceremonies. Also, both events will be live streamed and students who would prefer to watch from home due to safety concerns or issues will be able to do so.
Lastly, the number of guests that can accompany each graduate will be limited given pandemic guidelines at that time.
Juniors and seniors intrigued by STEM should look into Lehigh’s University’s Summer Engineering Institute, which is a two-week program occurring this summer. For more information, see the EHS website.
The 2021-2022 academic year course verification forms have now been made available within the Power School portal for students and parents to view. Ninth to 11th grade students are encouraged to look over the forms with their parents and teachers.
Students registered to take humanities honors during the 2021-2022 school year will have to complete an application. A message with this information was sent out to these students by Mrs. Bray in Schoology. If any students taking this course next year did not receive the application they are to reach out to Mrs. Bray in the counseling office. The deadline for application submissions is 2 p.m. April 7.
The next Gallery 521.5 art show is titled as “Construction/Destruction.” Artwork can be new material or previously created art from this year and must relate to the aforementioned theme. Additionally, pieces must align with and follow the school’s code of conduct and be professionally photographed to be considered for placement in the show.
Artists interested in participating must submit their work by April 12 using the link on the EHS website.
