Catasauqua Area School District Board of Education met virtually March 16 for a special board meeting. All of the items on the agenda dealt with the Alumni Field renovation project.
All votes were approved unanimously, with board members Lauren Cieslak and Shawn McGinley absent. The approvals are all pending Catasauqua Borough issuing the building permit, allowing the improvements to the field house expansion, according to CASD Superintendent of Schools Robert Spengler.
The board approved Uhrig Construction Inc. as the general contractor for the renovation project in the amount of $639,000.
The board named Wind Gap Electric Inc. as the electrical contractor for the project in the amount of $189,985. Addendum 1 was approved in the amount of $3,054, and addendum 2 was approved in the amount of $139,200.
The board named ASL Refrigeration Inc. as the mechanical contractor in the amount of $211,899 and Integrity Mechanical Inc. as the plumbing contractor in the amount of $189,985.
The contracts are conditioned upon the companies providing all bonds, insurance certificates, certifications, clearances and other documents required under the contract documents in a timely manner.
The next school board meeting is 7 p.m. April 13.
