George F. James, 82, of Coplay and formerly of Catasauqua, died March 21, 2021. He was the husband of the late Janet D. James for 58 years.

He was a son of the late John D. Sr. and Magdalen L. (Gemmel) James.

He was a graduate of Catasauqua High School where he excelled in basketball and football.

He was in the U.S. Army.

He worked in the computer center at PPL from which he retired after 38 years.

He was an active member of Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua.

He was a Scoutmaster at St. Lawrence the Martyr Church for Pack 51.

He is survived by two sons, David and his wife Angel and Chris and his wife Cindy; a brother, Kenneth and his wife Dorothy; a sister, Marie McKittrick; six grandchildren, Maxwell, Michaela, Abigail, Tara, Drew and Colby; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, John; and a sister, Betty Ann.
