Anthony J. Reinish

Anthony J. Reinish, 98, of Northampton, died March 20, 2021, at the Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Hedwig “Hattie” (Horvath) Reinish for 73 years.

Born in Kormend, Hungary, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Gaal) Reinish.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a machinist for Bethlehem Steel for 41 years until he retired in 1980.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton, where he was a lector and a past president of the Holy Name Society.

He was a member of the Northampton Borough Council for 14 years. He was a member of and supported various veteran groups, including the Catholic War Veterans, the American Legion and the Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was a member of the Men of Malvern and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus 528 Council, Allentown. He was past president of PSA. He was on the board of directors at the Northampton Community Center for 30 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Pamela Yost and her husband Robert and Antoinette Long and her husband James; four grandchildren, Jason Yost, Jeremy Kressly, Jaime Kressly and Victoria Long; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Kressly; a sister, Margaret Reid; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Jansen, Helen Reinish and Anna Reinish; and two brothers, Frank and Joseph Reinish.
