Jump for Joy

While passing a burned- out home 4-year-old Christopher Kern asked his dad Chris if they could rebuild the house for the inhabitants. While they couldn’t tackle that job, the young snowboard enthusiast asked his dad if he could help other kids less fortunate, and “Jump for Joy” was born.

Collecting winter clothing, blankets, toys and sports equipment from friends and family, the Kerns delivered bags full of contributions to the Bethlehem Boys and Girls Club March 18 for distribution to club members and their families.

“I feel like I’m happy,” said Christopher about his initial effort. The elder Kern says they are exploring the creation of a nonprofit for future collections and donations.
