Kiwanis club’s drive-thru egg hunt set for April 3

The Emmaus Kiwanis Club will hold a drive-thru egg hunt at Emmaus Community Park 1 to 3 p.m. (rain or shine) April 3. The event is for youngsters ages one to 10 years of age. After entering the park, follow the signs to the Kiwanis Pavilion. Look for the Easter bunny who will be welcoming the cars. Each car will receive a bag via an extended holder (meeting social distancing guidelines). There is a limited quantity of bags.
Emmaus and Upper Milford Township Joint Environmental Advisory Council will host community cleanup for Earth Day 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (rain or shine) April 17 at Emmaus Community Park, Shimerville Road at South 14th St.
Community members are invited to participate in this fun, earth-conscious event. The event will include cleaning up litter and debris from sites around the borough and township and around the park pool and the library buffer areas. Earth Day is a great time to help out by cleaning up litter and debris and provide community education about the importance of protecting local water resources.

The Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., will host its annual Tee Time at the Library mini golf fundraiser 6 to 9 p.m. April 23. The event features an 18-hole course inside the library with decorations by East Penn School District students. The event is an adults-only (ages 21 and older) and features complimentary food and an adult beverage (served outdoors). Putters and balls will be provided. Masks will be required and social distancing protocols will be followed. Tickets are available at the library or via PayPal at www.emmauspl.org/tee-time. All orders for the Emmaus Lions Club annual Dutch Chowder April 24 sale must be preordered by April 12. Pick up will be 7 to 11 a.m. April 24 at Emmaus Community Park. Containers will be available. For more information or to preorder the chowder, contact any Lion member or call 610-965-7355.
Emmaus Borough Council meets 7 p.m. April 5 and 19 via Zoom. The borough is conducting two public meetings to discuss possible remodeling efforts to Emmaus Borough Hall, the Emmaus Police Department and the Central Fire and Ambulance Station. The first meeting will be April 14 via Zoom. The next meeting will be April 28. Council is set to vote on the matter at the regular May 4 council meeting. For information, visit borough.emmaus.pa.us.
The borough’s recycling site beside the public works department’s garage on Kline’s Lane opened in March. The site is open noon to 6 p.m. on the second Monday of the month. In April the date is April 12.
The deadline to order a 2021 veterans brick at the Emmaus Remembrance Garden is April 2 for the May 22 installation ceremony. There is a cost. For information, visit www.emmausremembers.org or email remgarden1@gmail.com.
The Emmaus Farmers Market at the Triangle on Main Street in Emmaus continues with its winter market hours through April. The market, which is held rain or shine, is held 10 a.m. to noon April 11 and 25. April 25 is the last winter market. The regular market begins in May.
Due to the pandemic restrictions, the Woman’s Club of Emmaus will not hold any meetings this spring. However, the members will celebrate receiving their COVID-19 vaccinations with a get together April 26.
The Emmaus Historical Society and Museum, 218 Main St., will continue to remain closed on a month-to-month basis. The museum will reopen when it is safe for both visitors and staff.
Starting in April, orders will be taken for Dan Schantz Monthly Madness Cards by calling the society at 610-966-6591. Please leave name, email, phone number and the number of cards to be ordered. Orders must be placed by April 26.
The society is planning a bus trip to Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster for “Queen Esther” July 13. Please call Nancy at 610-967-5715 to reserve a spot.
