James L. Montone, 80, of Bethlehem, died March 12, 2021. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Philip and Connie (Zambotti) Montone. He was the life partner of 55 years to John Ellis of Bethlehem, to whom he was married.

He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a radiology technologist for 30 years until he took retirement. He was the owner and manager along with his partner of John Ellis Beauty Salon and several rental properties.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

In addition to his spouse, he is survived by a sister, Carmella Diehl of Hazleton, and five nieces and nephews.
