Paul E. Reinhard Jr.

Paul E. Reinhard Jr., 80, of Lower Macungie Township, died March 13, 2021, in the In-Patient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Betty J. (Harrison) Reinhard. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary December 2020. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Dorothy (Semprini) and Paul E. Reinhard Sr.

He was a graduate of Allentown High School, Class of 1958 and graduated from Moravian College in 1965. He began his career as a copy boy at The Morning Call from February 1959 to June 1960; June 1960 to August 1978 he was a sports writer for The Morning Call; August 1978 to October 1980 he was the director of communications, United States Auto Club, Indianapolis, Ind.; October 1980 to November 1998 he was the sports editor of The Morning Call; November 1998 to June 2004 he was a sports columnist for The Morning Call; June 2004 to the present, he was a freelance writer for The Morning Call.

He was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church where he was a member of the adult choir, men’s quartet, Missions Committee, drama team and was a small-group leader and a Sunday school teacher.

His hobbies included tennis, biking, golf and freelance writing.

He is survived by his wife; children, Debra, of Yardley, Michael, of Northampton, Sheri Yost, of Northampton; grandchildren, Thomas, Shannon and Lindsey, Jason, Tyler and Jake Yost; great-grandchildren, Janielle and Jarius Yost; brothers: Ronald, of Northampton, Douglas, of Nashville, Tenn; cousins; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. March 17 at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, 1151 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown. Call 9:30 to 10:30 March 17 in the church. Masks are required and COVID-19 restrictions will be observed. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
