One person has died and another is hospitalized after a March 15 shooting in Moore Township.
Reports indicate Moore Township police had been called to a home on Moser Road before 11 a.m. for a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect, a 74-year-old male, suffering from a gun shot wound to the head. According to a report from Trooper Nathan Branosky, of the Pennsylvania State Police, the man told officers he had shot himself as well as a neighbor who lived across the street.
That neighbor, 42-year-old Christopher Robbin Debellis, was found dead in the rear of his home, Branosky said.
Debellis had been shot inside and outside his residence with both a handgun and a rifle, according to the report.
Northampton County Coroner Zack Lysek ruled Debellis’ death a homicide.
The investigation revealed the neighbors had been disputing for months over a water pipe.
The suspect was treated for his injuries at the scene and then transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.
Moser Road, in the area of Delps Road, was closed for part of the day.
The investigation, which is ongoing, is being conducted by the Troop M Major Case Team. Assisting are Northampton County District Attorney’s Office, Northampton County Coroner’s Office, Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Moore Township Police Department, Lehigh Township Police Department, Bushkill Township Police Department, Moore Township EMS, Nazareth EMS and East Allen Township EMS.
