At Public Library of Catasauqua, curbside service means personal service.

Call the library at 610-264-4151 to talk about the kinds of books you like to read. Staff will do the browsing for you.

Your books will be placed in an unused bag, labeled with your name and placed on a shelf in our foyer, which accommodates one person at a time.

The North Catasauqua Police Department is introducing a ride-along program, open to all community members ages 18 years and older.

Anyone interested must complete and submit an application and obtain approval from the chief of police.

Applications are available 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the borough building, 1066 Fourth St.

The department hopes community members will find this program to be educational, fun and memorable.

The police department also reminds residents to discard any unwanted or unused medications and prescriptions at the safe medication disposal drop box at the borough building. No questions will be asked, and no information is required of anyone discarding medication.

The drop box is open to everyone, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The North Catasauqua Recreation Committee is currently on hiatus. Monthly meetings will resume soon.
