Bath holds vaccine clinic
In a clear demonstration of the good that government can do to assist citizens, Bath Borough Mayor Fiorella Reginelli-Mirabito, members of council and borough administrative staff teamed up with the Bath Social Club, a prominent community nonprofit, and Rite Aid Pharmacy to hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic.
Reginelli-Mirabito led the effort to energize her team to figure out a way to provide the vaccine clinic to benefit Bath and surrounding communities. The clinic was by appointment only.
Reginelli-Mirabito said she lost family members in Italy to the coronavirus, and members of her Bath family, including herself, tested positive for COVID-19. She is grateful all of her Bath family survived.
Jimmy Pasquariello, president of the Bath Social Club, 135 S. Walnut St., and his team stepped up to allow use of the club hall for the clinic.
“We are always happy to help Bath,” Pasquariello said.
Other council members, borough administrative staff and borough Manager Brad Flynn helped register people and ensured an efficient vaccination process.
Mandy Hoysan, Rite Aid regional pharmacy manager, supervised, and her team ran the clinical portion of the vaccination clinic. Hoysan is the daughter of Bath’s administrative assistant, Tanya Lamparter.
This was a first-dose Pfizer vaccine clinic. The second dose clinic is planned for April 3, also to be held at the social hall. COVID-19 phase one guidelines were followed.
This organizational trifecta delivered an important service to more than 300 citizens seeking vaccination. More than 700 inquired about the clinic. The cancellation waiting list exceeded 30 citizens.
One female client, asking to remain anonymous, was moved to tears after receiving her shot. She noted she often hears government does not care for citizens. She expressed gratitude to Reginelli-Mirabito for the clinic, stating her own efforts to secure a vaccination had been unsuccessful to this point.
