STUDENT PROFILE - Nicholas Fritz Liberty HS

Grade: 12

Family members: Mom, Dad, sister (Addison) and three dogs

Favorite subject: Math because I want to go into a field that you need a strong math background. I like history because I find it interesting and history tends to repeat itself.

Activities: I play basketball and run track.

Next steps: I would like to attend college and major in sports management. Colleges I am interested in are Temple, ESU and Kutztown.

Career goals: Pursue a career in sports management

Heroes: My mom because she’s always pushing me to be the best

Hobbies: I love basketball. I like just shooting hoops, playing a game with my friends. I have played on a local AAU team for a few years and enjoy the competition.

Current job(s): I have worked at the Hanover Township Community Center for the past two and a half years. I assist with the parks program, overseeing parties, camps and working at the desk. COVID-19 caused the Community Center to close. I am currently playing on an AAU team so having a job, basketball and school is a lot. Once AAU is done, I hope to go back to the Community Center.

Volunteer and community work: I volunteer with The Chemo Bag, Inc. The organization does donation drives for blankets, hats, socks, hand sanitizer, puzzle books and journals and other items that help patients receiving chemotherapy. The organization assembles 120 bags each month and delivers them to 10 Infusion Centers in the Lehigh Valley and Poconos. I help inventory the donated items and assemble the bags every month.

Likes: Basketball, hanging out with my friends and playing ball. I recently got my driver’s license and enjoy the freedom and the privilege of driving.

Dislikes: Not seeing my friends every day because of hybrid school days, and some of my friends have left for college.

Greatest accomplishment (so far): Receiving the Best Defender recognition at a national camp. For my 13th birthday I got to sit on the bench with the Harlem Globetrotters for the entire game. I was included in huddles and all their antics. It was a great evening with lots of memories.

Advice for peers: Make friends and enjoy high school because it goes by fast. Be true to yourself and be KIND.
