Press photo by Chris Sexton U.S. Army Capt. Maranda Cavett spent time enjoying the mild temperatures last Wednesday at Sand Island with her children, Joseph and Mia. Cavett is stationed with the Active Guard Reserve in Tatamy. Commissioned in 2013, she also practices law as part of her Army duties, handling human resource- and policy and procedure-type complaints from fellow soldiers. Cavett lives in Bethlehem with her children and husband, Joseph Durr. She says she'll be in the Lehigh Valley for at least another year and a half and hopes to eventually return to her home state of Mississippi to practice personal injury law. Mia is excited to begin kindergarten in August at Calypso ES.
