Local student captures pageant title.

On Jan. 23, Macie Bazella, of Emmaus, was named Miss Pennsylvania Junior High School America.

She is a seventh grade student at Lower Macungie Middle School, a high honor roll student and enjoys musical theatre and raising fancy chickens. She also has a heart for service and volunteers as much as she can in the community.

Macie started her own program, Operation Outreach U, a social media outlet to help make teens aware of different ways to donate time, meet new friends and make a difference. She is currently promoting the platform B.R.A.V.E., an acronym of Building Respect and Values for Everyone. B.R.A.V.E. is an antibullying campaign to make kids aware of the importance to be kind. Macie is hoping to spread her message by reading to 200 classrooms by the end of the school year.

Macie will represent Pennsylvania this summer in Little Rock, Ark., as she competes for the title of Miss Junior High School America.

The Miss High School America Scholarship Pageant Organization started in 2009 for the purpose of providing personal and professional opportunities for young women. It is the organization’s goal to provide outstanding junior high school, high school and collegiate young women the opportunity to compete in a prestigious national level scholarship pageant.
