Eugene C. Knerr, 79, of Macungie, died March 2, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife, Dorothy (Smith) Knerr, were married 57 years.

Born May 18, 1941, in Allentown, he was the son of Frederick C. and Grace M. (Moyer) Knerr.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy, earning the rank of third class engineman during a peacetime era.

He was an expeditor at Mack Trucks Inc. for 25 years before retiring in 1989.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Diana L. Sylvester (Thomas) of Cetronia; grandchildren Freddy, Nicole, Aaron and Tommy; great-granddaughter Mia; siblings Barry F. Knerr (Kathy) of Illinois, Kenneth R. Knerr (Roseann) of Allentown, Walter L. Knerr (Helen) of Harrisburg and Nancy Kahler-Jow (Keoni) of Upper Darby.

He was predeceased by a brother, Frederick G. Knerr.
