Dominic Nolfa

Dominic “Nick” Nolfa, 88, of Country Meadows, Allentown, died Feb. 25, 2021, Lehigh Valley Hospital.

He and his wife, Elaine (Thomasch) Nolfa, were married more than 61 years.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Anthony and Luella (Solt) Nolfa.

An Allentown High School graduate, he later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Moravian College where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and served as president of the Inter-Fraternity Counsel.

He started his teaching career at Wilson Borough High School followed by 27 years at Parkland High School, during which time he coached swimming for many years.

He was a member of Church of the Mediator, Allentown.

A dedicated and devoted husband and loving father, his interests included a love of art, classical music, reading historical biographies and watching John Wayne movies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Antoinette Slagter (Matthew) of Schwenksville; son Thomas Nolfa (Donna) of Alpharetta, Ga., grandchildren Nicholas (Caroline) and Alexandra Slagter, and Eric and Luke Nolfa.

He was predeceased by his sister, Connie Koehler, who died March 2.

Public services will be announced at a later date.
