Eleanor R. Schaffer, 91, of Macungie, died March 4, 2021, in The Willow, Macungie. She was the wife of the late William Schaffer, 92, who died Feb. 26, 2021. They were married for 71 years. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Fasching and Theresa (Zotter) Fasching.
She was a member of New Temple Chapter #298 Order of the Eastern Star and Solomon’s United Church of Christ, where she served in the choir.
She had a fun, spunky personality. She made holidays and everyday a special time for her family. Cooking special meals, summer picnics on the patio, shopping sprees with the girls, playing with the family pups and grandchildren were her joys. Her family was everything to her, especially her love for her husband, William. They had many wonderful times together in life and are fortunate to be together for eternity.
She is survived by a son, William D. and his wife, Kathy, of Bethlehem; a daughter, Bonnie L. and her husband, Gary Cole, of Macungie; grandchildren, Kelli L. and her husband, Thomas Kesler, Kristie M. and her husband, Nathaniel DeNicola, Timothy W. and Jessica L.; a great-grandson, Patrick J. Kesler. She was predeceased by brothers, Edward Fasching and Robert Fasching.
Contributions may be made in her memory to Solomon’s United Church of Christ and The Sanctuary at Haafsville, Breinigsville, a no-kill pet shelter.
Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
