Dorothy L. Warmkessel

Dorothy “Dottie”Warmkessel, 84, of Emmaus, died Jan. 15, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard “Lenny” S. Warmkessel Sr. for 29 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 24 years, Anthony “Tony” Snyder, of Lenhartsville. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Marvin A. and Lillian C. (Eckert) Lowe.

After graduating from Allentown High School in 1955 she began a career at The Call-Chronicle (The Morning Call) as the only woman, at that time, keypunch computer operator for 31 years, of which she was very proud.

Her favorite things besides being with family were her many pets, gardening, listening to Elvis, dancing, going on adventures with her lifelong best friend Millie, exercising at the former Curves gym, meeting up with “the girls” for brunch, cooking, baking, playing cards and smiling and laughing as often as possible.

She is survived by a nephew, Frank J. Bors Jr. and his wife, Megan; a grand-niece, Grace Lilian Bors, of Catasauqua; grand-nephews, Brandon Nathaniel and Trent Anthony Bors, both of Allentown; a sister-in-law, Catherine Koch, of Hazleton; her late husband Lenny’s daughter, Peggy Timbo; granddaughters, Tanya and her husband, William Tumas and Leah; as well as other family members and numerous friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Sandra “Sandy” Bors, a brother-in-law, Frank Bors Sr., a niece, Kerri Ann Bors and brothers, Robert Lowe and Richard Koch.
