Doris V. Shaak, 92, of Myerstown, formerly of Emmaus, died Feb. 12, 2021, at StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Shaak, who died in 2013. Born in South Temple, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ida (Phillips) Berky.

She was a 1946 graduate of Myerstown High School.

She was a member of Myerstown UCC and was a former member of the Emmaus Lioness Club.

She was employed as a teacher’s aide in the East Penn School District and later as secretary at the Hillside School, Macungie, until retiring in 1996.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her friends and family remember her as a kind, compassionate woman with a sweet, gentle soul.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan and her husband, Glenn Crossley, of Redmond, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Linda, of Whitehall; grandchildren, Peter (Keri) Crossley, Sara (Nick) Scarsella, Kyle (Samantha), and Katie (Karl) Cuff; great-grandchildren, Jack, Thomas and Henry Crossley; Cora Scarsella; Hunter Cuff and Riley; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Jr. and a sister, Elsie Dussinger.
