Theft
A resident of the 5700 block of Tavistock Lane, Lower Macungie Township, reported a license plate was removed within the past two years and is being used on a separate vehicle, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The plate likely was removed sometime between Aug. 28, 2020 and Jan. 15.
Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville are investigating the theft of a $9,150.65 check Nov. 13, 2020. The theft was reported at a location on South Mountain Drive, Upper Milford Township.
A wallet was removed from a shopping cart at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
DUI
A 31-year-old male, of Pottstown, allegedly was driving under the influence in an accident in the 6200 block of Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, 9:59 p.m. Dec. 27, 2020, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Two people sustained minor injuries in the accident.
A 54-year-old male, of Emmaus, allegedly was determined to be driving under the influence when his pickup truck swerved into oncoming traffic and struck another pickup truck on Beverly Hills Road, Lower Milford Township, 10:45 p.m. Jan. 29, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was driving south when he swerved into the northbound lane.
Hit and run accidents
An 18-year-old male, of Macungie, was hurt when his vehicle hit a concrete culvert and an embankment along Mill Creek Road at Spring Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:20 p.m. Jan. 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was southbound during heavy snow when he lost control on a curve. When police arrived, the motorist was not at the scene but was later found and had minor injuries. Yocum Towing and Recovery also responded.
At least two people were hurt in a two-vehicle hit and run accident along Spinnerstown Road, Lower Macungie Township, 6:45 p.m. Dec. 23, 2020, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The accident happened near the intersection with Plover Lane. A driver and passenger in an 2003 Audi A4 fled, abandoning the vehicle at the scene. The operator and passenger of the second vehicle were treated for minor injuries at the accident scene.
Terroristic threats
Walter S. Oxenford, 56, of Lester, allegedly struck the vehicle of another motorist multiple times with a wooden club while verbally threatening the driver in a road rage incident at the intersection of Chestnut Hill Church Road and Plover Lane, Lower Milford Township, 1:31 p.m. Jan. 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Suspicious person
A resident along Shuler Street, Lower Macungie Township, reported a suspicious female approached his residence between 2:24 p.m. and 5:19 p.m. Dec. 30, 2020 and asked about a package delivered to the residence, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The female allegedly was unable to provide a name of a recipient of the package or from where the package was sent.
Theft by deception
A resident of the 5400 block of Barclay Court, Lower Macungie Township, was scammed out of $200 in Amazon gift cards after receiving several texts from someone the resident believed to be their church pastor requesting gift cards to help people of the church, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident sent four Amazon gift card codes in a reply text to the person thought to be the pastor. The incident happened between noon Feb. 3 and 3:46 p.m. Feb. 4.
A resident of Woodmont Circle, Lower Macungie Township, was coerced into purchasing $9,939 in Target gift cards, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 10 a.m. Feb. 19.
A resident of the 1100 block of Grange Road, Lower Macungie Township, allegedly purchased $1,900 in Google Play gift cards after being told a Google account had been locked. The resident was instructed to contact Google Support via a phone number provided in a link on the resident’s cellphone, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The resident was told by two males claiming to be Google Support staff the $1,900 in gift cards would unlock the account and prevent law enforcement from investigating the resident. The incident happened between 2:30 and 7:07 p.m. Jan. 22.
