The Upper Lehigh Lions Club is taking orders for hoagies which will be ready for pickup at the Schnecksville Fire Co. after 3:30 p.m. March 16.
Call Ruthann at 610-217-0333 by March 8 to reserve hoagies. Choices are available regarding onions and peppers. Tuna hoagies are also an option.
Due to COVID-19, the Lions had to cancel many traditional fundraisers last year and also the Schnecktucky Derby which had been planned for this April.
Nevertheless, they were still able to contribute to several community needs, such as the Parkland C.A.R.E.S. food pantry, a Christmas program for young people, and the Center for Vision Loss.
Chartered in 1947, the Upper Lehigh Lions Club has 53 members.
The organization is dedicated to betterment of the local area and to providing help for the less fortunate.
The club is always looking for men and women who would like to become a part of the organization whose goal is service to others.
Contact Lion Rich at 610-398-1995 to learn more about Lionism and how to become a part of it.

For Sundays in Lent, the pastors at Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, have selected the theme, “Holy Vessels, a Lenten Season of Recovery.”
“We have been through a harrowing time since last Lent that has shattered our sense of wholeness - body, mind, and spirit - like a glass vessel fractured into pieces,” the pastors said. “In this Lenten season of recovery, we can begin a journey toward making something beautiful from that which is seemingly broken.”
Worship services are available on Facebook, YouTube, the church website or via telephone by calling 610-410-9595.

Although people may be yearning for more social contact during the pandemic, Pastor James Gottwald, of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, reports some private time can be beneficial.
“It may be that God has given us some time to nurture the courage and honesty we need to be real with God.
“Lent gives us the opportunity to do some personal introspection,” Gottwald explained.
“While much of the introspection must be done by ourselves in private, publicly we can give thanks for ways that God helps us overcome barriers to a right relationship with God and others.”
