Wayne W. Shollenberger
Wayne W. Shollenberger, 88, of Bethlehem, died Feb. 4, 2021, in his residence. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Norman T. and Elsie B. (Hilbert) Shollenberger. He was the husband of Jane A. (Spengler) Shollenberger for 66 years.
He was a 1950 graduate of Allentown HS.
He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He and Dave Gehman partnered to start Dave & Wayne Auto Center, Bethlehem, in 1958. When Gehman retired, Shollenberger became the owner and worked full time until the age of 86. The business is now owned by his son, Bill.
He was a member of Light of Christ Lutheran Church, formerly Messiah Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
He was a member of the Lehigh Valley Old Time Athletes and Friends and of the North West Bethlehem Lion’s Club, where he was a past president. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #283, Free and Accepted Masons, Lehigh Consistory; and the Shriners. He was a former board member of the Northampton County Blind Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William “Bill” W. (Beth) of Bethlehem Township; two daughters, Lynn J. Terry (Jonathan) and Lauren O’Keefe Burian (Timothy), all of Bethlehem; eight grandchildren, Daniel J. Terry (Megan), Kristen L. Fricke (Bryce), Wayne C. Shollenberger (Katherine), Kyle W. Shollenberger, Tyler M. O’Keefe, Kurtis R. Shollenberger (Lauren), Rachel L. Rumble (Timothy) and Andrew T. O’Keefe (Caity); three stepgrandchildren, Kyle M. Burian (Martha), Angela C. Burian (Kyle) and Cara M. Burian; two great-grandchildren, Sophie and William; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Natalie, Molly, Hannah and Michael; a sister, Carol Michael of Maryland; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Jack Shollenberger; and a sister, Diana Collins.
