Accident
A 26-year-old female, of Pottstown, was hurt when her vehicle spun into a street lamp pole on an exit ramp on Interstate 78 West, Salisbury Township, 11:37 p.m. Jan. 16. The motorist was negotiating a right curve of the Exit 55 off-ramp when the vehicle went off the right shoulder and hit a street lamp pole. The impact caused the vehicle to spin about four times before striking another pole. The driver had injuries to her back and right arm and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. The driver allegedly was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the accident, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Cetronia EMS, Yocum Towing and Recovery and Salisbury Township firefighters also responded.
