Joseph J. O’Keefe Jr., 97, of Bethlehem, died February 10, 2021. He was born in Allentown. He was the husband of Nancy O’Keefe for 70 years.

He was a 1941 graduate from William Allen High School and was the class president. He studied engineering and was a 1946 graduate of Lehigh University and of the University of Maryland’s School of Law.

He was in the Marine Corps in 1941 during World War II. He was recalled to the Marine reserves during the Korean War.

He was the manager of the patent division at Bethlehem Steel and retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1982. He then opened a law practice.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Joseph J. (Tish) of Bellingham, Washington; Michael P. (Cindy) of Henderson, Nevada and Sean E. of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew (Caity), Hope (Ben), Justin, Ryan, Craig and Erin; and a great-grandchild, Anne.

He was predeceased by a sister, Veronica; a daughter, Nancy; and a grandson, Peter.
