George Joseph Kulanko Jr., 75, formerly of Fountain Hill and more recently of Hellertown, died on February 14, 2021. He was a son of the late George and Mary A. (Yurish) Kulanko.

He was a standout athlete at Fountain Hill High School, and played baseball and basketball. He attended Fork Union Military Academy, Virginia. He played early in his college career at Eastern Kentucky University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree.

He was a social worker in child protective services in Lehigh County and then in Warren County, New Jersey. He was a court mediator in Warren, Hunterdon and Somerset counties for the Superior Court of New Jersey.

He was a coach for his daughters’ little league teams and was an umpire.

He is survived by two daughters, Samantha and Alix, and their mother and George’s former spouse, Joan Lorah; a sister, Gloria Christman and her husband Earl; first wife, Bonnie (McCrossan) Kulanko; and a longtime friend regarded as a son, Tony Phillips.
