Dennis McKay, 79, of Easton, died February 13, 2021. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Floyd W. and Mary (Lebeduik) McKay. He was the husband of Marianne E. (Cahoon) McKay for 56 years.
He was a graduate of Liberty High School and Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School.
He was a seaman in the U.S. Navy. He was selected for the U.S. Navy Honor and Ceremonial Guard Units at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He participated in the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy. He was the orderly for both Admiral Arleigh Burke and Admiral George Anderson.
He was a toolmaker. He was a machinist/tool and die maker for Bethlehem Apparatus Company, Hellertown Manufacturing Company, Champion Spark Plug and Binney & Smith Inc. He retired in 2002.
He was a member of the Hellertown American Legion, the National Rifle Association and United Auto Workers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon L. Shultz and her husband Robert; two sons, Michael L. McKay and his wife Adel and John Z. McKay; seven grandchildren, Jesse, Ethan, Mahala, Cariana, Olivia, Maya and Isaac; and a stepgranddaughter, Ami and her family.
He was predeceased by a brother, Leonard.
