Robert D. York, 82, of Oroville, Calif., and formerly of Allentown, died Feb. 21, 2021, at his home in Catasauqua. He was the husband of the late Arlene “Peach” (Barrios) York for 41 years.

Born in Carbondale, he was a son of the late George and Marion (Mink) York.

He attended Lehigh University and graduated with an engineering degree.

He was in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Langley, Va., and served in Libya and other places.

He was an engineer for Mack Trucks, both in Allentown and in Hayward, Calif., until he retired after many years.

He was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Allentown, and was currently a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oroville, Calif.

He is survived by three daughters, Janet York, Carol Roach and her husband Dennis and Shannon Klemm; two sons, Gary and his wife Victoria and Billy; a sister, Gladys Kistler; a brother, George “Bill” York and his wife Carol Miller; four grandchildren, Aidan, Mason and Madison York and Micheal Klemm and his wife Renee; nieces; nephews; and two sisters, Tootie Wood and her husband Brian and Nancy Allred and her husband Garey.

Services will be private.
