John W. Horvath, 94, formerly of Catasauqua, died Feb. 19, 2021. He was the husband of Bess Pavlics.

He was a son of Joseph and Cecelia (Urban) Horvath.

He joined the Navy in 1943 and had earned the rank of Seaman First Class before leaving the service in 1946.

He retired from UGI in 1989 after 38 years with the company.

He is survived by a daughter, Jane and her husband Rowland Bauer; a son, John (Jack) Jr. and his wife Kathy; a sister, Helen Reinert; a brother, Martin; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be private.
