Hunter D. Hendricks

Hunter D. Hendricks, 59, of Emmaus, died Feb. 16, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of RuthAnn (Erb) Hendricks for 40 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late David O. and Sally A. (Bruder) Hendricks.

Beginning at the age of 9, Hunter was active in the family business, Hendricks and Sons Auto Center, Emmaus.

He was a hardworking and caring man that provided selflessly for his family. Putting other’s needs above his own defined him.

A lover of the outdoors, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, member of the NRA and enjoyed trap shooting with his father. Above all, he cherished his time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. Some of the best times were spent at Ocean City, Md., bayside fishing on his boat with the family.

Recently, he enjoyed time spent at the cabin located in Towamensing Trails.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Tasha Hendricks-Tarbox, wife of Shane Tarbox, of Emmaus and Zarah Ann, of Emmaus; a son, Shane Hunter and his wife, Jordon Godfrey, of Macungie; a brother, Daniel D., of Emmaus; sisters, Robin L. and her husband, Kevin Balliet, of Emmaus and Kelly K. and her husband, William Pearsall, of Emmaus; grandchildren, Haven, Autumn, Colt, Nathan, Peyton and Rowan.

Contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church, 415 S. Sixth St., Emmaus, 18049 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

Services will be private. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
