John (Jaws) Klein, 64, of Locust Grove, Va., died Jan. 27, 2021, while visiting longtime friends in Florida. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Joseph C. Klein and Marie O. (Sally) Klein.

He grew up in Emmaus, where he attended Emmaus High School and graduated in 1975.

He worked at Kensol Airways and the Pine Tree Tavern while in Emmaus, Lehigh-Lancaster Inc., in Lancaster, S.C., Green Spring Plant Co. and later was sole proprietor of Steam Master carpet cleaning in Virginia.

He cherished the annual family gathering and shared vacation in Stone Harbor, N.J., which was a tradition for more than 60 years. He was known for his green thumb. He enjoyed woodworking, cooking and was always up for a great late night conversation. He loved the adventure of spelunking at Schofer Cave outside of Kutztown and shared that experience with many friends and family.

He is survived by sons, Josh and Danny; a daughter, Jessica Lauser (Rob); a grandson Aiden (A.J.); mother; a sister, Linda Ciotti; brothers, Tom (Tricia Boland), Jim (Patti); nephews Nick Ciotti (Robin), Jason, Sean, Ryan (Anya) and a niece, Erin.
