Alton H.S. Ringer, 90, of North Whitehall Township and formerly of Whitehall Township, died Feb. 3, 2021, in the home of his son. He was the husband of the late Mary M. (Marcks) Ringer.
Born in Whitehall Township, he was a son of the late Roy H. and Verna A. (Hahn) Ringer.
He was a lifelong farmer in Whitehall, known for growing potatoes, before he retired in 2004.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mickleys, Whitehall, where he was a past president and treasurer of the consistory.
He participated in the church bowling league and won numerous trophies. He was currently on the board of directors of the St. John’s Union Cemetery Association, Mickleys.
He is survived by a son, Peter A. and his wife Brenda S. of North Whitehall Township; and three grandchildren, Matthew Ringer and his fiancee Gabriella Smith, Stephanie Ringer and Jacob Ringer.
He was predeceased by three siblings, Daniel R. Ringer, Ruth V. Rabert and Leona M. Helfrich.
Services will be private.
