John Toman is expected to be approved as Northampton High School’s new head football coach at a school board meeting Monday, Feb. 22.
Toman was an assistant coach at Allentown Central Catholic last season.
He spent 14 seasons at Southern Lehigh, where he posted an overall 104-54 record in 14 seasons. Toman resigned in January 2020 after he cited differences with the school district. Toman’s best season was his last in 2019 when he won a District 11 Class 6A title and a share of the Colonial League crown.
He will replace Kyle Haas, who directed the program for three seasons before he resigned in January to become the head coach at Bethlehem Catholic. Haas posted an overall 19-10 record.
