Whitehall Township Public Library: Digital magazine collection changing to Libby app

Whitehall Township Public Library will be moving the digital magazines from RBdigital to the Libby app as part of the OverDrive collection. You’ll still be able to browse, borrow and enjoy all the same great magazines from ZINIO you loved in the RBdigital app.

If you’re using RBdigital, your user history and currently checked-out magazines will not transfer over to Libby, but you can continue to access RBdigital until March 31.

For those who have not yet tried Libby, all you need to get started is your library card number and PIN. Libby is easy to use and will guide you through the setup process and get you connected to our library in just a few minutes.

You can find in-app support or visit the help site or Libby Academy within the app for assistance. Call us at 610-432-4339 and we can help you, or you can stop by with your device.

Check out the library’s weekly interactive Zoom storytime. All are welcome to attend, though the stories will be geared toward toddlers through second-graders.

Contact Mrs. Santaliz at santaliz.l@whitehallpl.org for the Zoom links. These will be available every Thursday before the following Tuesday’s storytime.

All of our in-person kids’ and family programs have been canceled or postponed until at least March 31.

The library’s winter basket raffle will run until 1 p.m. Feb. 19. Baskets are on display inside the door. Some of the baskets being prepared are baby baskets, a winter cozy basket, “going to grandma’s house,” COVID-19 basket, book stacks, soup and relax, plus many more.

Winners will be called Feb. 20. If you win, you’ll have a week to pick up your basket.

The adult winter reading program runs until March 6. It is open to anyone 18 years or older. All you need to do is write down the author and title of every book you read or book you listen to between Jan. 1 and March 6.

Register on the website, whitehallpl.org, or pick up a paper copy of the reading log.

Ask us about making a booklist for you from Novelist Plus. Call us for more information.

The library is continuing with curbside pickup six days a week.

To request items online, log into your account, search our catalog, click Place Hold on the right side of the record and submit your contact information. When anything arrives for you, we will call to schedule a pickup day. Then you can pick them up by coming to our side door during business hours and ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door.

***

The current library hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Fridays. We will do curbside pickup only 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. The library will be closed to patrons Saturdays and Sundays.

The library is following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Office of Commonwealth Libraries guidelines to protect our staff and patrons during this pandemic.

All library items must be returned to the yellow book drops in the library parking lot. No items will be accepted at the front desk.

After items are returned, we put everything in quarantine for seven days before checking them in, using the amnesty date as the check-in date. You’ll see the items listed in your account until then.

Fines are waived until March 31. Fines will be charged on items due before March 12, 2020.

Damaged and lost items will still be charged to the patrons’ accounts.
