Tepes to lead realtors group
At an invitation-only ceremony held Jan. 28 at the iconic Roxy Theatre, Northampton, Tim Tepes was sworn in as the new president of the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors Association.
Tepes is a real estate broker and co-owner of Assist 2 Sell Buyers and Sellers Realty, 2019 Main St., Northampton.
A full-time realtor since 1990, Tepes specializes in residential sales, new construction and investment properties.
Tepes was elected president of the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors Association by a nominating committee, consisting of the past president and two directors, then was approved by the association membership. He will hold the position for one year.
“I’m here to listen to what the board of directors and my fellow realtors want and need,” Tepes said. “This is their association. I’m here to help and guide. If there’s an issue that comes up, we will address it and move forward in the best interest of our members.”
Northampton Mayor Thomas D. Reenock was in attendance and announced Jan. 28 as Tim Tepes Day in Northampton.
Reenock presented Tepes with an ornate “key to the borough.” Handing the key to Tepes, Reenock noted there has been a lot of changes in Northampton, including the locks at borough hall.
“This key won’t get you in anywhere,” Reenock joked. The two are longtime acquaintances.
Before his time with Assist 2 Sell, Tepes worked for Coldwell Banker Heritage Real Estate and Re/Max Unlimited Real Estate and held other real estate-related positions. Tepes is viewed by his peers as a consummate professional, always trying to better himself. Over his professional career, he has received numerous designations and certifications.
Tepes’ parents, Louis Jr. and Bernice, attended the ceremony.
His father was the successful operator of Louis Tepes Construction. His grandfather, Louis Tepes Sr., formerly of Coplay, was a successful real estate developer and builder and a longtime civic-minded person, assisting Coplay with many improvements including the development of Coplay Public Library.
