Elizabeth Crock celebrated her 100th birthday Feb. 7. She has been a resident at Sacred Heart Senior Living by the Creek, Northampton, since 2014.
Born in Catasauqua, she was the youngest child of Charles and Elizabeth Kagel. She had five siblings. Her father worked at Atlas Cement Company.
Elizabeth graduated from Catasauqua High School in 1938 before attending Allentown Business School. She worked in accounts payable/receivable at the Fuller Company, Catasauqua, for more than 30 years.
Elizabeth married Joseph Crock in 1941. He was a subcontractor with his own business, Crocks Floor Covering, and later worked on furniture repair. They had 57 years together until he died in 1997.
Elizabeth has a son, Joseph, who lives in Broomall with his wife, Sue. He was a high school teacher in Upper Darby for 31 years and then worked in sales for 10 years.
Elizabeth also has two granddaughters, Jean and Jennifer, and two great-grandsons, Darren and Daniel.
Elizabeth’s favorite hobbies are embroidery, sewing, needlework, puzzles and word searches. She also participates in many activities at Sacred Heart, including Senior Fit Club, games, crafts and bingo.
She most enjoys visits from her family, especially her son’s dog Penny.
