Betty M. Unger, 88, of Allentown, died Feb. 7, 2021, in Phoebe Home, Allentown.

She was the wife of the late Frank Unger.

Born May 10, 1932, in New Tripoli, she was the daughter of the late Harold C. and Goldie L. (Werley) Schraden.

A 1953 graduate of the former Allentown Hospital School of Nursing, she worked at the former Allentown General Hospital for several years before becoming a mother to her three daughters.

She was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, South Whitehall.

Her survivors include daughters Debora A. Sassaman (Ronald) of Libby, Mont., Kathy L. Nickerson (Timothy) of Williamsburg, Va., and Pamela D. Unger, with whom she resided; and grandchildren Matthew, Jacob and Emily.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Aaron Nickerson, and siblings Ruth and Kenneth Schraden and Shirley Wieder.

A private graveside service will be held at Jordan UCC Cemetery, South Whitehall, with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating.

There will be no public calling hours.
