Wolf administration Senior Health Advisor Lindsey Mauldin spoke with media last week, delivering an update on the state’s vaccination progress.
She reported that as of last Monday, more than 1 million vaccine doses had been administered, with more than 200,000 people having received their second dose and being fully vaccinated. “Know that the actual numbers are higher, but there is a natural lag in reporting because vaccine providers have 24 … and 72 hours to report.
“Right now the demand for vaccine for outweighs the supply, but it will catch up. We must be patient. Getting vaccinated is such an important step in stopping COVID-19.”
Mauldin also said the Biden administration is allocating vaccine directly to retail pharmacies in addition to what they are already getting through the state process.
She reminds Pennsylvanians who lack internet access to make use of the 877-help hotline for COVID and vaccine information and appointments: 1-877-PA-HEALTH (1-877-724-3258)
As of Monday, the state has 754,240 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 22,471 deaths. Lehigh County has 28,894 confirmed and 713 deaths; Northampton County has 24,327 confirmed and 589 deaths; the city of Bethlehem has 5,900 confirmed and 96 deaths.
