Lower Macungie Township compost site passes are now available to Macungie residents for a fee. Residents must submit an application with the fee to the Borough of Macungie. More information can be found at www.macungie.pa.us.

Grace Lutheran Church offers its free community meal as a drive-up option. The next meal will be 4-5:30 p.m. Feb. 12.

Grace Lutheran Church has added another day for their monthly outdoor drive-up or walk-up Grace Food Cupboard Give-Away. The next dates for the food cupboard are 2:30-4 p.m. Feb. 23 and 26 when anyone can receive one bag with nonperishable food. Both events take place in the parking lot; signs will be posted.

Cash bingo is held weekly Saturday evenings at Macungie Memorial Park. Doors open 4:30 p.m. and games begin 6:30 p.m. Attendance is limited to 60 people; seating is spaced for distancing. Like father, like son … My husband was visiting his dad for a few days in January. While he was there, my father-in-law couldn’t find one of his favorite evening shows and realized it wasn’t Sunday. He told my husband, “All day I was thinking it was Sunday and it wasn’t!” Last week, our daughter was visiting for the day. When she was leaving, Matt said, “See you on Thursday.” She replied, “Dad, it is Thursday.” Matt shared the story with his dad and they had a good laugh over it.
