Ralph P. Gruber, 85, formerly of Fogelsville, died on Jan. 27, 2021, in Country Meadows retirement community, Upper Macungie Township.
He was the widower of Anna Mae (Griffi) Gruber.
Born in Heidelberg Township, he was a son of the late Robert C. and Iva M. (Snyder) Gruber.
A heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 542 for 24 years, he retired in 1995.
Before that, he worked for PennDOT for 12 years.
He also worked for Keller Funeral Homes Inc. for more than 20 years in various positions and was a constable for Weisenberg Township for 24 years, a deputy sheriff for Lehigh County for eight years, and president of the former Emergency Police Inc. for 15 years.
He was a member of Weisenberg Lutheran Church, where he was the financial secretary for 24 years, on church council for 27 years, and sang with the choir for many years.
He was also sexton of the church for five years and president of the cemetery association for 32 years.
He was a member of the Saucon Lodge 469 F.&A.M., the Lehigh Consistory, and Rajah Shrine, Reading,

His survivors include a son Forrest R. Gruber and his wife, Sharon; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his companion Jean.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne; brother, George; and a sister, Eda E. Bailey.
